June 2, 2011 -- Robby Kiley, President of CLIR (the Center for Learning in Retirement), announced today that CLIR's governing Council has voted to offer a three- month trial membership in its Special Audiences program. Available to CLIR members, Special Audiences provides complimentary tickets to theater, music performances, and lectures. More than 1,100 such tickets were distributed to members last year.

The three-month membership will be available for $25 to both existing CLIR members and those who choose to join as a result of this promotion. This offer is extended to compliment CLIR's earlier offer of a three month general membership for $75. An annual general membership is priced at $250, while a full year of Special Audiences is priced at $50. CLIR, founded in 1973 by UC Berkeley Extension, San Francisco, and now a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is located at 50 First Street, Suite 300, San Francisco. and has members from six Bay Area counties. Its programs include free daytime classes and activities, northern California day tours, an annual picnic, luncheon, and holiday gala. Its classes include: Spanish Conversation, Current Affairs, Memoir Writing, Opera in an Hour, Play Reading, and Seeing as an Artist Sees. CLIR also has a Book Discussion Group, a Movie Club, and a Dining and Discussion Group.
